Aedifice is live, with active engagements on buildings across the five boroughs. The company is NYC-first by deliberate choice: the regulatory surface here — Local Law 11, Local Law 97, LPC review for landmark properties — is dense enough that doing it well takes precedence over doing it everywhere.
Our work has two arms. Products are how Aedifice shows up inside the workflow of the firms and owners responsible for buildings. Research is how Aedifice writes about the built environment honestly — how buildings age, how they are stewarded across generations, what the regulatory record actually says.
Wren-FISP, our Local Law 11 compliance platform, is the first product release. The research arm publishes alongside it, including the Built Environment Index and ongoing work on the cycle structure of NYC facade compliance.
We hold that buildings outlive the owners, operators, and engineers who work on them, and that the institutional memory a building requires should outlive them too. That conviction sets what we build and what we decline to build.
